Testimonies of healing and deliverance hold significant importance in the Christian faith as they serve as powerful evidence of God’s active presence and power in the lives of His people. They build and strengthen faith by showcasing the fulfillment of God’s promises, such as those found in Psalm 103:3, which proclaims: “He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases” (NLT). These testimonies inspire hope and encourage believers to trust in God’s ability to intervene in their own circumstances. They also glorify God by highlighting His mercy, compassion, and authority over all things, drawing others to seek Him. Moreover, such accounts often deepen communal faith, uniting believers in praise and reinforcing their confidence in the transformative power of prayer and the Holy Spirit. I wanted to take some time to write out the story that God has given me and share what He has done in my life.

The story God has given me is unique but more common than many might think. For much of my life, I struggled with mental illness, feeling hopeless and unsure how I could keep going—or even wanting to. Though I grew up attending church, I still felt empty and didn’t understand why. My battles included anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder (BPD), and an autism diagnosis. These challenges made everyday life incredibly hard. I spent years in and out of mental health hospitals because I couldn’t manage my overwhelming emotions. I tried to take my life five times. I couldn’t live independently, hold down a job, or finish high school, and I depended heavily on my parents to get through each day. It wasn’t until I truly came to know who God is that everything began to change.

My life changed on July 5, 2020. I was baptized with a true understanding of what it meant to give my life to God and began to learn how to live as a follower of Christ—a disciple. After my baptism, I was prayed over for freedom from the challenges I faced with multiple mental health issues, and God freed me from all of it. I no longer needed the medications I had relied on for years. It has been a process, but God has worked with me and helped me to renew my mind according to His Word, not to what the world says. I went to an evangelistic training school with a ministry called The Last Reformation and truly learned how to live the life that God has called us to live.

Now, I am doing things that doctors said I would never be able to do: I am finishing school and getting my GED (I graduate in April!). I am working a full-time job, and I am preparing to get my driver’s license (I have had my permit since 2023). I also live on my own. Without God, I would not be able to do these things. I would still be struggling. I am not in any way saying that I am perfect now, God is still working on me with a lot of things. I am thankful for the change that God has done in my life and that he is continuing to do. This is just a short version of my testimony there is so much more but I know God will use this.
